Coin-op amusements news | Adrenaline junkies face XQuarry desert challenges

Desert adventures can be played out at the new XQuarry destination in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Daredevil visitors can already hike across the dunes and ride a giant zip line at Jebel Jais, but just opening is the XQuarry Adventure Park at over one million square metres. It is located in the Mleiha Desert at Al Faya Mountain.

It has 15km of off-roading trails and 20 off-road obstacles for visitors to tackle in cars. There is obstacle running, mountain biking, hiking and remote control cars among the attractions.

Opening tomorrow, the location is said to include attractions for all ages and abilities. At first, guests will have to bring their own cars for the off-roading adventures, but it is intended soon to introduce 4×4 vehicles for hire.

The obstacle course demands climbing, jumping, crawling and swinging around a 2km course full of obstacles.
