Coin-op amusements news | Canadian FEC opens despite pandemic

Just opened is the new Playdium FEC at Dartmouth Crossing, Canada, by Cineplex Entertainment.

The giant amusement centre – its opening was delayed by six months through the pandemic – covers 30,000sq.ft of games, tenpin bowling and VR, party rooms and F&B. There is also a 12-screen Cineplex movie theatre.

The opening during a pandemic is not a consideration for the group, said Cineplex director of amusement and entertainment Kashif Ahmad, talking with Halifax Today.  “The social aspect of getting together with other people and doing things outside of the home is still top of mind. It is just a matter of feeling safe and going out and doing it in environments like ours where those precautionary measures are put in place.”
