Coin-op amusements news | Filipino city’s arcades hopeful of reopening

Arcade operators in Cebu City, the Philippines, hope to reopen shortly and are working with the authorities on protocols to ensure safety.

According to a report from the Philippine News Agency, the arcades are co-operating with the Emergency Operations Center for the possible reopening of venues, having presented their own plans for it to be done safely.

The protocols are based upon government proposals. Yesterday, a group of operators agreed to appoint a “health infection and prevention control officer” to ensure strict observance of minimum standards inside FECs in shopping malls.

Mayor Edgardo Labella last year ordered businesses in the city to appoint such an officer as a prerequisite to resuming operations.
