Coin-op amusements news | IAAPA sets 2021 shows as ‘in-person’

Attractions trade association IAAPA clearly believes that its US members will be able to open for business and take part in mass-attendance events, including the trade show, by the end of the year.

The organisation has published a list of IAAPA events for the full year, most of which are virtual, but towards the last third of the year there is a marked increase in face-to-face conferences and shows, including the big one in Orlando in November.

Initially, however, its schedule is all virtual. A water parks forum on March 23 is virtual, a conference on April 7-8 follows the same format, and a Latin American summit April 13-14, is also on-line.

The first ‘in-person’ get-together is in Zhuhal, China, on April 22, but after that it goes back to virtual with its Institute for Attractions Managers May 10-13.

A Spring Summit is being held in Belgium, June 8-10, in person. Then there are two more virtual events in a Safety Institute and another Institute for Attractions Managers, June 16-17 and July 26-30.

The first major show is Expo Asia, a face-to-face event in Shanghai, China, August 10-13. Another in-person event is the Latin American conference in Cancun, Mexico September 8-9. Two more virtual meetings then take place: the Safety Institute on September 15-16 and another Institute fort Attractions Manager September 20-24.

Face-to-face trade shows continue with the European expo at Barcelona, Spain September 27-30. The main IAAPA show in Florida is set for November 15-18.
