Coin-op amusements news | Saudi amusements show still on schedule

The Saudi Entertainment and Amusement Expo, SEA, is going to go ahead, reports the event director of the organising company.

Sarkis Kahwajian of DMG Events (pictured), based in Dubai, said: “We have had a shoal of inquiries from people wishing to exhibit at the exhibition (June 1-3). All of the contacts have been very positive. The industry wants this show and we plan to give it to them. The only thing that would stop us is anything that is out of our hands.”

Right now, said Kahwajian, the events industry in KSA is operating and his office in Riyadh informs him that there is nothing to prevent the show going ahead.

“Of course if the Saudi Government introduces some restriction that prevents us going ahead then it is out of our hands. But we are in daily contact with the authorities, especially the events people at government level, and we believe that in the next two weeks the situation will become much more clear.”

He said that if the situation prevented the show taking place – it is planned for the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre – then DMG has alternative plans ready, and the exhibitors will be fully protected.
